Instead of an inground hydraulic drive system usually found on larger scenic mall elevators, the main elevator at the Centro in Oberhausen uses a roped hydraulic one where the cab is supported by two pistons. Outside of the center, there is a promenade, which is served by another roped hydraulic elevator. The facade facing the promenade may look like separate buildings, but it is just a single one.
