Building a New Reservoir to Supply 825,000 People with Water!
Dirt World Stickers now available at https://dirtworldstore.com/ Welcome to the Chimney Hollow Dam Project, located an hour outside Denver, CO. Crews from Barnard Construction are working hard to build a 360' tall, $700MM earthen dam to store 90,000 acre-feet of water. As the population along Colorado's front range has grown, so has its appetite for water. The problem? Most of Colorado's water lies on the other side of the Continental Divide, on the state's western side. To provide consistent water flow beyond 2050, the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project aims to dam an existing valley to create a giant bathtub. During the wet season, they can fill the reservoir and draw from it based on demand throughout the year. Infrastructure projects don't get much more essential than this!
