Daniel Marial Garang Jill (from Koch Community of Bor County) has finally tied the knots with his second wife (Ajah Magok Garang Ok from Juet Community of Bor County). Both the traditional wedding ceremony and the reception were held at APT Center in the Shirkat suburb of Juba, South Sudan 🇸🇸 on November 10, 2024. The two love birds were brought together by fate after Marial Garang lost the marriage competition for Athiak Dau Riak (Pakeer Community of Twic East) to his counterpart (Chol Marol Deng Atem from the Awulian community of Twic East). The "arranged marriage" that had started off well quickly evolved into the Twic East vs. Bor community politics. And before we knew it, Marial Garang's request for Athiak's hand in marriage was rejected. It is unclear whether Marial's lost had something to do with the Twic East vs Bor politics or "Athiak's alleged" choice of Chol Marol had something to do with not wanting to join a polygamous marriage when she had an option to be the only wife (at least at the start of her marriage). However, something that is very clear is that Marial's loss was a blessing in disguise as he ended up getting Ajah Magok, who is equally tall.
