SAVAŞIN SIRLARI | Çirmen Muharebesi

Humanity has waged war since the dawn of history. As the ages passed, so too did the scale and form of wars. Some wars ended in two hours, while others lasted for decades. There were great leaders who changed the course of every single one of these wars. And these leaders sometimes employed such ingenious strategies that they destroyed vast armies with a single group of soldiers. Every war and every leader holds countless secrets. Now, with our journey through history, we will unearth those secrets one by one. The first installment of Secrets of War continues after Genghis Khan's Ruthless War Tactics. Introducing the second installment of Secrets of War: the Battle of Çirmen. The Crusaders, whose army of 80,000 was defeated by 4,000 Ottoman raiders in the Battle of Srpska, could not recover from the trauma of this war. Years later, the Kingdom of Serbia (Desport) assembled a Crusader army of 70,000. Taking advantage of Sultan Murad I's (Hüdavendigar) crossing into Anatolia, the Serbian Army launched an expedition against Edirne. This time, their task would be easier than the last. They faced only 800 Turkish raiders. Or at least, they thought so. In the battle of September 1371, Lala Şahin Pasha and 800 raiders destroyed the Serbian Army before the Maritsa River. So how? How could 800 horsemen defeat an army of 70,000? Like every war, this war has its secrets. These secrets will be revealed today to inspire us.
