The video also shows much better comparison to earlier road conditions from the 1990s, when parts of the route consisted of gravel, dirt, and muddy sections that often required 4x4 vehicles. The completed highway represents a significant improvement in accessibility, safety, and travel efficiency. With the new Pan Borneo Highway, travel time to Kuching has been reduced from a 2-day journey to approximately 8–9 hours, saving nearly 1.5 days.
