The third installment of our trip to the famous hermit Agafya Karpovna Lykova in 2025. We traveled 300 km upriver by boat, through blockages and ice jams. The boat was damaged, and we had to repair it on the river. A flood washed away a building on the riverbank. We met Father Vladimir, Agafya's spiritual mentor. Givi, an assistant from Lesosibirsk, had been at the hermitage for over a month. Together, in one boat, we began our return journey back up the river toward home. The Lykov family had lived in isolation since 1937. For many years, the hermits tried to protect the family from external influences, especially regarding their faith. Agafya Lykova's world is no more than one square kilometer: on one side is the turbulent Erinat River, on the other, steep mountains and impenetrable forests stretching to the horizon. Only to the north does Agafya venture a little further from her hut, reaching the meadows where she cuts grass and branches for her goats. People come to the farmstead less and less often due to the difficult route. Every year we visit Agafia Lykova and help the hermit as much as we can.
