I just got out of quarantine in Washington, D.C. and decided to take my mom out for a mother-son day. I’m not familiar with the Chinese restaurants in DC, so we went out exploring. She tried boba for the first time ever, and I took her to get her nails done. We also had a bunch of great chats with locals in Chinese. It’s always fun to see people’s reactions to seeing a white guy speaking fluent Chinese. My mandarin’s pretty good, and I’m working on Cantonese, so I’ll be testing that out next time as well!
