I just created a fully working traffic signal animation in PowerPoint that actually changes lights automatically. Red, yellow, green - just like real traffic lights. Watch how I made it step-by-step. Drag to create the traffic signal body. Go to Format and set size to 13.5 cm height & 5.5 cm width. Set both Fill & Outline to Black color. Set Outline Width to 6pt for a bold frame. Add 3D Effects to Signal Box With the rectangle selected, click Bevel & select Circle for a rounded 3D appearance. Click Shadow & select Inner Shadow to add depth & make it look more realistic. Create Traffic Light Circles Click Insert - Shape - Oval. Hold Shift key while dragging to create a perfect circle. This will be your first traffic light. Position it at the top of the signal box. Color the Traffic Lights Select the first circle, go to Format - Shape Fill, and choose Red color for the stop light. Set Shape Outline to No Outline for a clean look. Press Ctrl+D to duplicate the circle twice. Change the second circle to Yellow and the third to Green. Align Traffic Lights Select all three colored circles. Press Ctrl+A to select all, then go to Arrange - Align - Align Center to center them horizontally within the signal box. Space them evenly vertically. Transparent Light Copies Select all three traffic lights and duplicate them with Ctrl+D. Select all duplicated lights, right-click & choose Format Object. Set Transparency to 50%. These will be the "off" state lights. Add Appear Animation to Red Light Click on the bright red light circle. Go to Animations - Appear. This makes the red light turn on. Click Add Animation and select Disappear so the light can turn off. Open Animation Pane Click Animation Pane to see all animation timings. This panel helps you control when each light turns on and off. Set Red Light Timing Click on the second animation (Disappear) for red light. Select Start After Previous so it plays automatically. Set Delay to 5 seconds so the red light stays on for 5 seconds before turning off. Repeat for Yellow Light Click the yellow light. Add Appear animation, then Add Animation - Disappear. In Animation Pane, set the Appear animation to Start After Previous (after red disappears). Set Disappear with 3 seconds delay. Repeat for Green Light Click the green light. Add Appear animation, then Add Animation - Disappear. Set Appear to Start After Previous (after yellow disappears). Set Disappear with 5 sec delay. Add Realistic Glow Effects Select the bright red light, right-click, go to Format Shape - Glow and Soft Edges. Set Size to 50pt, Transparency to 50% & choose Red as the glow color. This creates realistic light emission. Apply Glow to Other Lights Repeat the glow effect for yellow and green lights using their respective colors. This makes each light look like it's actually glowing when turned on.
