Giselle's Mad Scene Virginia Johnson

The setting is updated from medieval Germany and a world of Brother's Grimm-like supernatural imagery, to the bayous of Louisiana and its own rich history of storytelling. I come from a southern family, thinking of my uncle driving us through South Carolina telling us ghost stories as kids and showing us the remains of plantations made me interested in this version. Virginia Johnson is a beautiful woman with a line as lovely as she herself is. The choreography is more stark than in other productions, but Virginia uses the economy of movement very sensitively and is a fine Giselle.
