Dunwoody Police unveil Real Time Crime Center

Leaders with the City of Dunwoody and Dunwoody Police Department gathered to unveil the new Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), which connects technology to enhance public safety. Powered by Flock Safety, the cutting-edge RTCC is a comprehensive command center that brings together the City’s license plate recognition (LPR) cameras, gunshot detection, police body cameras, Condor pan-tilt cameras, Flock OS 911, call geolocation, and third-party video cameras. Dunwoody Police used $360,000 in SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) funding to convert the police roll call room to the RTCC. The RTCC will be staffed by crime analysts and Dunwoody Public Safety Ambassadors, who are non-sworn personnel trained to work alongside police. The RTCC is dedicated to former Dunwoody Police Chief Billy J. Grogan.
