Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT)
Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) is a structured plan that utilizes the ABCs of ABA Therapy. The child responds to a predetermined stimulus or cue and receives a reinforcement or response depending on their behavior. Prompting is used until the child no longer needs it. The use of high repetition and fading out prompts after the child learns to respond enhances their skills and promote generalization. DTT is a great strategy that also teaches the child to learn with an instructor.
