My name is Ben and I spent 22 years in the US Army flying helicoters. In the last 10 years since retirement I have worked for Air Methods as Emergency Medical Helicopter Pilot. It is not often that you get a retirement check and then get paid for doing the same thing. I do enjoy the flying and the schedule. I work 7 days on and then get 7 days off. I work a spilt 3/4, meaning 3 twelve hour shifts of days and then transition over to 4 twelve hour shift of nights. This schedule gives me plenty of time to pursue my other hobbies, wood carving, gardening, metal working, and a ton of other things that strike my interest. I have been carving since I joined the military and have sold many carvings.
