6 ABSAIL/RAPPEL Methods & FRICTION MANAGEMENT Techniques for FIGURE 8 Descender

In this episode, I demonstrate SIX different methods for ABSAILING/RAPPELING/MANAGING FRICTION while using a FIGURE 8 descending device. In the video, I use a Rescue 8 variant of the device, however, any standard Figure 8 can be used for any of the methods shown. Every one of these techniques can be performed with nothing more than the Figure 8 and anywhere from one to two locking carabiners! I will also demonstrate a way for a climber to connect a rope to their Figure 8 without it ever being disconnected, thereby ensuring that the device cannot be inadvertently dropped or lost during use.
