We Bought a 1930s Masonic Temple, and 3 additional buildings to Build a Movie Studio. Episode 1

We are building a massive 20,000 + square foot independent movie studio system completely from scratch! In Episode 1 of "Building a Movie Studio," Heather and I take the ultimate plunge. We purchased a historic 1930s Masonic Hall, a Western Auto, A Sporting Goods Store and a small Wharehouse to turn it into an expansive, state-of-the-art Motion Picture Soundstage's, production and distribution facility for Dalton Pictures. This isn't just a basic paint job or a small green screen setup—we are completely gutting three brick commercial buildings and a metal building from the ground up. This week, the real labor begins as we tackle heavy masonry drilling to engineer the massive 2000-amp 3-phase commercial electrical system it will take to power the 4 buildings. Plus take on immediate plumbing emergencies with old, broken water valves to get the facility functional. We’ve been documenting this intense 5-year journey, and the stakes are high. From architectural engineering and heavy labor to the local small-town drama that unfolds when you try to build something completely unique—we are showing you the raw, unfiltered reality and dedication of what goes into building the New, Old Hollywood. Is it crazy to build a commercial studio system on your own? Stick around to see how we make it happen! #filmmaking #moviestudio #construction #renovation #indiefilm #BuildingAMovieStudio #diybuild #architecture #moviestudio #movies #smalltown #loris
