Albena 4K Ultra HD

Albena was founded in its modern resort form in 1969. This makes it the youngest resort in Bulgaria. And the forests of Baltata acquired the status of a reserve even later - in 1978. Despite this, you can find descriptions of these places dating back to the 2nd – 3rd centuries BC. At that time, the territory of the present protected area was mentioned under the Greek name Geranea. Initially, it was planned to make Albena a continuation of another sea resort located nearby - the port of Balchik. They wanted to call it, respectively, "Balchik-South". By the way, according to one of the versions, the new name of the resort, however, has not yet found official confirmation, is a reference to the name of the main character of the eponymous work of Yordan Yovkov, a famous Bulgarian writer. The first sign for the formation of the complex in its modern form was the construction of the Dobrudzha hotel in 1983. Until now, remaining the tallest building in the resort, it is rightfully considered one of its symbols. It is noteworthy that, having gained some popularity as a place for international tourist pilgrimage, it was Albena that became the first private resort in the country. The place where Albena is located cannot be called anything other than successful. This resort is fortunate enough to be adjacent to the protected area in the north of the Bulgarian Riviera. The Baltata Nature Reserve, which combines the sea coast and lianas, is a unique and worthy place in itself. By the way, the area of ​​the resort is so insignificant (the beach strip is 3.5 km long and 150 meters wide) that officially it does not even have the status of a city, and the population of Albena is actually tourists and employees of local hotels and entertainment establishments who come from the suburbs. The cities closest to Albena are Varna and Balchik.
