During World War II, of all the superhumans created, the United States developed the perfect super-soldier, with one small detail. He was a Black man. This ended up being incredibly awkward for propaganda, although there was no denying the fact that he was excellent at killing Nazis. So they found the perfect solution: one identity, two people. Soldier Boy! While James survived bombing raids, destroyed battalions, and carried the national and allied interests, someone else had to deal with the "tedious and difficult situation" of carrying... the victories and the image of what the American public needed. According to American standards, of course. Apparently, defeating the Third Reich was less acceptable than letting a Black man appear in the newspapers as "America's hero." I mean, those were the early days of the superhero profession, more or less; someone had to give the green light for this whole hero thing to be viable today.
