You Don't Know What Love Is - Al McLean & Lex French

In this instalment of Jazz, Period., we find saxophonist Al McLean joined on stage by Montreal based Lex French for a trumpet feature. Lex is playing a 101 year old presentation grade trumpet, and he cuts a beautiful ballad on the small bore horn. Both French and McLean are playing into vintage ribbon microphone, French a 1950's RCA 77-DX, and McLean on a 1953 Toshiba Type A (RCA 44-A clone).
