Representatives of various political camps have offered their own, often diametrically opposed, answers to the question of who started the Civil War in our country and when. How does modern scholarship answer these questions? Why did the day of the October Revolution coincide with Trotsky's birthday, how did General Kornilov escape from prison, and what does the phrase "send Dukhonin to headquarters" mean? The answers to these and other questions were revealed in a lecture by Yevgeny Yemelyanov, PhD in history and head of the Research Department at the Boris Yeltsin Museum.
