How to find matsutake mushrooms | Pine mushroom season

Here in the Pacific Northwest, matsutake mushroom season typically starts in late September and goes well into early December with November historically producing positive outcomes after a good amount of rainfall. You can find them in coniferous forests as they have a symbiotic relationship with pine trees. Look for habitats with a lot of pine needles, mossy ground, and salal plants in elevation ranging from 1800 to 2500 feet.
