He recounted being in a Christian group but was extremely tall and wanted to play basketball. However, he realized early on that he couldn’t play that well and wouldn’t excel in the sport after the reaction he received for getting his first in-game dunk. Montell Jordan also talked about his days in college at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. While at Pep, Montell recalled pledging Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc and how he went through the old school process before the anti-hazing crackdown.
