A Simple Foxtail Millet Upma | Light & Wholesome Cooking
In this video, I’m sharing a simple and nourishing foxtail millet upma made with soaked millets and fresh vegetables. Light, comforting, and easy to digest meal. This recipe is calm, minimal, and cooked slowly — just the way everyday food should be. Ingredients • Foxtail millet – ½ cup (soaked 8–10 hours) • Vegetables of your choice (onion, tomatoes, carrot, peas, etc.) • Mustard seeds • Ghee • Water – 2 cups • Salt – to taste Method Soak foxtail millet for 8–10 hours. Discard the water and wash again. Heat ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle. Add chopped onions and sauté until soft. Add vegetables and salt, cover, and cook for 2–3 minutes on low to medium flame. Add washed millets and 2 cups of water. Cover and cook until the water is absorbed and the millets turn fluffy (about 10 -15 minutes). Turn off the flame and serve hot. Simple food. Clean flavors. Cooked with care. Thank you for watching.
