Why should the public trust the Government on its Metro promises?
It was quite the comment from Taoiseach Micheál Martin at the Government’s grand launch of the revised National Development Plan. “There is now a very definitive commitment to the MetroLink,” the Fianna Fáil leader said. Was the commitment not definitive just over three years ago, when then transport minister Eamon Ryan got cabinet sign off – including that of Mr Martin, who was the taoiseach at the time – for the preliminary business case for the MetroLink?
