Your questions answered about the Nissan Tekton after 700km | First drive review | evo India
Nissan is back in the mid-size SUV segment — and to prove it, evo India drove the Nissan Tekton from Chandigarh to Leh. Through Manali, through Zanskar, up to 16,500 feet at the Shinkula pass and across 650 kilometres of Himalayan roads that test everything a car has. The Nissan Tekton shares its platform with the Renault Duster but wears design DNA from the Nissan Patrol — muscular face, 212mm of ground clearance and a presence that stands apart in the segment. The 1.3-litre turbo DCT T280 makes 159bhp and 280Nm. It needs to be above 2,500rpm to feel alive, but once there it pulls cleanly and handles Himalayan switchbacks with genuine stability and poise. The seats hold you well, the suspension deals with broken mountain roads without drama and the 518-litre boot swallowed everything the trip demanded. The AC — highest capacity in this segment at 160cc — worked flawlessly at 38 degrees and at altitude. It is not perfect. The DCT exits manual mode too quickly on winding roads, the rear seat is tight for taller passengers and Nissan's dealer network needs serious work before it can compete with the Creta and Seltos in the real world. But the Tekton is a genuine driver's car — and on the road from Chandigarh to Leh, that counted for a lot. 0:00 Introduction 0:40 Differences between Nissan Tekton and Duster 1:41 Nissan Tekton or Duster: Which has the better cluster? 2:53 Does the Nissan Tekton have AWD? 3:33 Is the Nissan Tekton powerful? 4:21 What's the acceleration of the Nissan Tekton like? 4:51 Is the Nissan Tekton comfortable? 5:57 Nissan Tekton: Is the AC powerful? 6:41 What are the usable features of the Nissan Tekton? 8:14 The most important feature in the Nissan Tekton 8:28 Is the Nissan Tekton E20 compatible? 8:46 Can the Nissan Tekton do a handbrake turn? 9:22 How is the Nissan Tekton in high altitude? 11:05 What all roads did we drive the Nissan Tekton on? 1:33 How do long journeys feel in a Nissan Tekton? 13:09 What is the mileage of the Nissan Tekton? 13:42 Why should you buy the Nissan Tekton? 14:07 Why you might not buy the Nissan Tekton? 14:44 What are the final thoughts on the Nissan Tekton? #evoIndia #nissantekton #nissan #nissanindia #tekton #suv #roadtrip #leh #lehmanalihighway #drivereview #carreviews Want more #ThrillOfDriving videos?
