The patchwork and fill-up work of the road which was left after laying the drinking water pipe in Devki Bihar Phase-2 Colony located at Bithoria No. 1 in Haldwani, started on Saturday. Let us tell you that on Tuesday, UUSDA's Project Manager Kuldeep Singh had assured the people who were angry due to this work being left incomplete that the work would start in three days. The residents of the colony expressed happiness when the work started as promised. During the work, a dispute arose in the afternoon regarding the slope. People alleged that the area where waterlogging was occurring has been rectified but due to not taking the universally accepted basis of slope, waterlogging is occurring at other places also. When Ramesh Chandra Pandey, president of the Devki Bihar Vikas Samiti, brought the dispute to the attention of Kuldeep Singh, project manager of the UUSDA, he dispatched Assistant Engineer Manoj Bargli to the site. Late in the evening, the residents of the colony held a detailed discussion with the assistant engineer. After speaking with the residents, Assistant Engineer Bargli instructed the contractor to correct the slope and repair the culvert damaged during the laying of the drinking water line. The dispute ended after an agreement was reached to restore the condition of the water line.
