How To Remove Your Ferrari F355 Engine (Step By Step Guide)
To replace the timing belts on the Ferrari F355, the engine must come out! Here's how we do it... š Want to see more from the world of Ferrari? Check out more videos here: Ā Ā Ā ā¢Ā TheĀ WorldĀ ofĀ FerrariĀ Ā The F355 "engine out" service is well-known and, for some, considered a rite of passage in Ferrari ownership. It may seem daunting to tackle this job, but fear notāIām here to guide you through the process. Let me share a little secret: an F355 engine-out service is one of my favorite jobs. The combination of complexity, attention to detail, and the "tribal knowledge" needed to execute a successful service just speaks to me. In this video, Iāll walk you through the process step by step, from preparation to disconnecting the systems necessary to safely remove the drivetrain. If youāre considering a DIY approach to your timing belt service, this video will be an invaluable resource. Removing the engine is the heart of the F355ās major service. Some owners attempt to replace the timing belts with the engine in the car by removing the fuel tank for access. While this might seem easier, I disagree. In my opinion, this method creates more challengesāespecially when it comes to degreeing the camshafts. This step, which I consider essential during any timing belt replacement, requires space and visibility that arenāt available when the engine stays in. Skipping it or doing it improperly can compromise the job and the engineās performance. In this video, Iāll show you the space weāre working with and explain why removing the drivetrain is the better approach. In upcoming videos, I'll go into detail about installing the timing belts and degreeing the camshafts with precision, so stay tuned! Whether youāre a Ferrari enthusiast, considering a pre-purchase inspection, or just curious about the level of detail required to maintain a classic like the F355, this video is a must-watch.
