They visit several places with hope, but no one is willing to rent them a house because they cannot afford it. Heartbroken, they begin the long journey back to the mountains. As dusk falls, two construction workers notice they are walking alone and stop to ask what happened. After hearing their story, the workers offer them dinner and a rest at their house, but they decline. The workers then take them home and promise to help them find a safe place to live.
