Various Opera scenes were transcribed to the piano, it opens with the music sung by the Commendatore from the finale of the Opera, which is followed by the love scene of the Opera, where a love duet was sung by Don Giovanni and Zerlina (''La ci darem la mano"). Two variations of the themes follows, then an extended fantasy on the Champagne aria (''Fin ch'han dal vino''), and finally concludes with the Commandatore's threat again. Technically, the work is abominably difficult, perhaps even more difficult than it sounds. Ferruccio Busoni says in the preface to his 1918 edition of the work, "the Reminiscences carries an almost symbolic significance as the highest point of pianism."
