🌍 "मेरा कचरा, मेरी जिम्मेदारी!" 🚮 Interactive Awareness Session

Sulabh-IIHH EIACP RP under the aegis of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, successfully conducted an Interactive Awareness Session on the new Solid Waste Management Rules 2026, on July 14, 2026 at Shaheed Captain Sumeet Roy Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Palam Enclave, New Delhi. Approx. 350 students, teachers, and staff actively participated in the awareness programme, where they learnt about the new 4 stream waste segregation at source and Bulk Waste Generator’s responsibilities. The participants were taught about the right usage of 4-Bin System. 🟢 Wet Waste (Green bin) – Organic kitchen & garden waste 🔵 Dry Waste (Blue bin) – Recyclable items like paper, plastic & metal 🔴 Sanitary Waste (Red bin) – Napkins, diapers & hygiene products ⚫ Special Care Waste (Black bin) – Batteries, e-waste & hazardous items The students played an interactive online game developed in-house, for a better understanding of the 4 bin system. Also, the students, principal and teachers took the pledge to protect the environment through better waste management practices at the individual level. Sulabh-IIHH EIACP RP handed over a set of 4 color coded dustbins to mark a beginning of this initiative “Mera Kachra Meri Jimmedari”.
