I arrived in this country with zero expectations… and it ended up surprising me from start to finish. It’s a safe, beautiful, and affordable place, with luxurious buildings like Merdeka 118 and the Petronas Towers, plus a mix of cultures and religions living together in harmony. It also has amazing street food that’s cheap and delicious, which makes a huge difference. This is Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia — an organized city full of life, with welcoming and friendly people. I even found a small football pitch inspired by Brazil, which made the experience even better.
