The difference between washes & contrast type paints. Your questions answered.

A question we are frequently asked is - "What is the difference between a wash and a contrast paint *(Citadel Contrast and Army Painter's Speed paints), and why would you choose one or the other?" There is a lot of confusion about this as these types of paint have a bit of a crossover in how they work, but there are properties unique to each that are important to know as they give very different results.
