Breaking the 24 Hours Endurance Record with Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun | evo India

Breaking records is something we take very, very seriously at evo India! So when we had an opportunity to break our very own record of most distance covered in 24 hours, we couldn't let it go. This time, we have two Volkswagen Virtus GT, a Virtus 1.0-litre, and two Taigun 1.0-litre; a total of five cars. And we were not going to be content with just one record, so planned to break, and set, a whole bunch of other records. But breaking records is never easy. It's a test of man and machine. Right from the drivers to every last person in the pits, and then the cars that were at their max for the whole 24 hours. Except for that one Taigun which was out to set the record for highest fuel efficiency over 24 hours for a turbo-petrol engine. But that's no easy task either -- it commands focus and precision. All of this also comes down to pin-point strategy execution -- refuelling, driver change, and tyre change. Talking of, massive thanks to Apollo Tyres for providing us with all the tyres we needed to set the record. And on that note, we couldn't have done it without the help of our friends at Rayo Racing, and the rest of the automotive fraternity who had come in to help us break the previous record of 4384.73km set in cars with much higher displacement than these.
