Our Apple Pie Flavored Apple Pie (pie) is unlike any other you've ever made, thanks to its mild flavor reminiscent of classic American apple pies. It has a texture somewhere between pudding and sponge cake and tastes heavenly. It's one of our exclusive and original recipes from the kitchens at EnCasaContigo. It's also so easy to make: just combine the ingredients, blend them all at once in a blender or food processor, and then bake. Crust Ingredients: • 22cm pan • 200g or 2 cups crushed vanilla or Maria cookies • 120g or 7 tablespoons melted butter • 50g or 1/4 cup sugar • Pinch of salt Crust Preparation: • Crush the cookies with a food processor or a plastic bag and a rolling pin. • Mix the crumbs, melted butter, sugar, and salt well. • Line the crust with baking paper. • Press the mixture into the bottom and slightly up the sides of the pan to make a firm seal. • Refrigerate for 20 minutes. • Bake in the center of the oven for 10 minutes at 350°F (180°C) or until firm and golden. • Let cool before filling. Tart Ingredients: • 6 medium apples (5 + 1) for decoration • 125 ml or 1/2 cup whole milk • 125 ml or 1/2 cup condensed milk • 150 g or 1 cup wheat flour • 230 g or 1 cup sugar • 4 large eggs • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • Optional: 1 tablespoon rum or 1/2 teaspoon rum extract FOR DECORATION: 1 tablespoon apricot, peach, or apple jam. Tart Preparation • Peel and slice 5 apples, leaving one for decoration. • Place the sliced apples and all the other ingredients (except the whole apple and the jam) in a blender, food processor, or blend until smooth. • Preheat the oven to 180°C – 350°F. • Brush the sides of the pan with butter. • Peel, core, and slice the remaining apple for decoration into thin slices. • Pour the prepared batter into the pan. • Place the apple slices on top. • Place in the center of the preheated oven and bake at 180°C – 350°F for about 60 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the pan to see if it comes out clean. NOTE: If it starts to brown too much before it's done, cover with a piece of aluminum foil to prevent the apple slices from burning. • Remove from the oven and brush a little jam over the top of the tart. • Let it cool to room temperature.
