Byzantium, 1081-1204 CE: The Ascendancy of the Military Aristocracy (2.0)
In this video, I trace the evolution of the Byzantine Empire from the accession of Alexius I Comnenus in 1081 to the events of the Fourth Crusade from 1202-1204. This video is almost identical to an earlier version that I uploaded four days before with the difference that I corrected my account of the Battle of Myriokephalon in 1176. Thank you to the user "Slick Willy" who pointed out the errors in my account of the battle.
