Lioni, the living hell of Campo Bergamo public housing: "We live in third-world housing" Campo Bergamo in Lioni is a public housing complex donated by the people of Bergamo to the people of Lyon after the 1980 earthquake. Approximately 60 families and over 100 people live in this complex. But the apartments are in critical condition: damp, leaks, mold, crumbling walls, and rusty iron bars protruding from the concrete. Above all, there are people in precarious situations who are asking the municipality to intervene to repair their apartments, worn down by time and neglect. There's Mr. Paolo, an 80-year-old who has suffered a double heart attack and lives in a ground-floor apartment in dire conditions, with debris falling on his head. There's Laila, a disabled woman with a rare disease, who lives in an apartment with architectural barriers and an inadequate bathroom and is waiting for a new home. And many other families are living with daily humidity, with rain coming through the ceiling. We alerted the Mayor of Lioni, Yuri Gioino, who explained the reasons for this situation and promised to intervene.
