Currently, we're seeing a lot of longhorn beetle damage and egg laying in our garden. This video explains in easy-to-understand terms where longhorn beetles are likely to lay eggs and how to remove them. Removing longhorn beetle eggs is easier than you might think. It's possible to completely remove eggs the size of a grain of rice. The eggs develop into larvae that move around the branches. Extensive damage can cause even the most resilient fig trees to wither. If you notice signs of egg laying, we recommend removing them immediately rather than leaving them unattended. To reduce damage caused by longhorn beetles, prune crowded branches and keep the base of the plant clear to allow for good ventilation. This will reduce damage by preventing birds and other natural predators from targeting them. We grow and compare various varieties. Currently, we have a fig swamp with around 200 varieties.
