Trains at Edinburgh Waverley | 14/08/20

This video is dedicated to the 3 lives lost and the others who's lives have changed as a result of the derailment near Stonehaven just two days prior to this being filmed. An hour or so of filming at Edinburgh Waverley station on Friday 14th August 2020. I had just arrived from London on the LNER 225 set, lead by 91119 in Intercity livery so I did get a little shot of that, but unfortunately it didn't leave while I was there. Lots of police presence around Waverley station on this day as it was the first day in which the fines for not wearing a face covering increased to £3,000! (So make sure if you're on stations or trains you have a face mask) Another strange thing I've not seen before, were a pair of LNER managers, with a speed radar gun at the south end of the station monitoring the speeds of arriving & departing LNER services. I'm sure those guys are popular with drivers... Has to be said services across Scotland on this day were in a state of chaos. Bad weather in previous few days resulting in flooding & landslips had caused line closures across the Scottish network, as well as the incident near Stonehaven blocking the route to Aberdeen there was only a fraction of Scotrail services actually running. The main Edinburgh to Glasgow "E&G" route was closed meaning the only access to Glasgow was into Central, via Shotts or Motherwell. That being said, still some good catches to look out for. INCLUDES: LNER Azumas & 225 set, Transpennine Express IET & 397, Cross Country Voyagers, Scotrail HST, 158's, 170's & 380's. The last shot is of the HST was filmed at Kirkcaldy as it continued its way north towards Inverness. Thanks for watching.
