I set off from Chiang Mai to Pai by hitchhiking… but this journey turned out to be much more than I expected! In total, I rode in four different vehicles. First, a motorcycle, then various other cars. But the real story began in the last vehicle… I met a Thai family who took me to Pai. Their vehicle was a pickup truck, and because there was no room in the front, I had to travel in the back, which was full of cargo. They treated me to food and showed incredible hospitality. Then, suddenly, it started to rain… First they gave me a raincoat, then a tarp. I struggled with the rain under that tarp for the entire journey. This journey wasn't just hitchhiking… I experienced both the beauty of humanity and the harshness of nature at the same time. Finally, I reached Pai, but I will never forget this experience.
