"FEAR OF THE LORD" Doesn't Mean What You Think

Does "fear of the Lord" really mean just respect? Most Bible teachers say yes. The Hebrew word behind the phrase says something far more surprising , and understanding it will change the way you read almost every page of Scripture. This is one of the most repeated commands in the entire Bible. Hundreds of verses call you to fear God. Hundreds more tell you not to be afraid. And in the original Hebrew, both commands use the exact same root word. That is not a translation accident. It is the hinge the whole thing turns on.
