「震災後に運転再開した姿が忘れられない」仮面ライダーなど石ノ森作品描かれた『マンガッタンライナー』引退へ　宮城・石巻市

The first-generation Mangattan Liner, a JR Senseki Line train featuring Kamen Rider and other characters, will retire in March due to aging. Ahead of the event, a photo session was held by a professional photographer on the 2nd. At JR Ishinomaki Station, local railway photographer Kenta Takekawa captured approximately 20 people gathered with the Mangattan Liner in the background. The Mangattan Liner is a JR Senseki Line train featuring the works of the late Shotaro Ishinomori, a manga artist with ties to Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. It features designs of popular characters such as Kamen Rider and Cyborg 009. The first-generation train began operation in March 2003 and has contributed to promoting Ishinomaki, the city of manga. However, due to its aging, the train will be retired on March 23rd. Participant: "It was very noticeable when it ran along the line, and I always felt like it was there, so it's a shame to see it retire." Participant: "It was a big presence in my local area, so I'll be sad to see it go." "I'll never forget the sight of the Mangattan Liner when it resumed service 10 years ago (after the earthquake), and it was what made me fall in love with the Senseki Line." Takekawa Kenta: "Even while photographing, I felt that it was both a special presence and a part of everyday life. I was reminded once again that it was a truly beloved train." On the 2nd, there was also a section set up to hear people share their memories of the Mangattan Liner. The photos will be featured at a photo exhibition to be held at Ishinomaki Station and other locations in early March. A photo session will also be held on February 16th.
