Motte of Urr, Dumfries, and Galloway. But what is a Motte, and what is this ones story. This was a completely unplanned visit to the Motte of Urr. I just spotted it whilst passing by. Had to have a closer look. And what a find it was. The site is well worth having a walk around. And what a litte gem, I was very happy to take a wander round theses castle remains, and explore some of the history of the area.
