In 1987, Olívio, a young office assistant at Banco do Brasil, answers a seemingly ordinary phone call. On the other end of the line, a man desperately searches for a client named Fábio Gonzaga. His mother had suffered a severe stroke in the countryside and needed to find him urgently. Despite his efforts, Olívio is unable to locate the man. Forty days later, by a twist of fate, Fábio Gonzaga enters the branch. Upon discovering who he is, Olívio approaches him and asks a question that changes both their lives forever. Fábio reveals that his mother passed away days after the stroke and that the greatest pain of his life was believing that no one tried to warn him.
