With a distinguished career that includes serving as the youngest-ever acting Federal Highway Administrator, COO of nonprofit ITS America, Minnesota DOT Innovation Director, and other roles, she’s managed $300B+ investment portfolios and led major state and nonprofit initiatives. A lawyer and former Fulbright Fellow, Kristin pairs deep policy expertise with a human-centered philosophy to tackle global mobility challenges like road safety and expanding mobility access. Beyond her professional achievements, she’s a dedicated mentor, startup advisor, senior fellow at UC Berkeley and MIT, women’s nonprofit founder, and a fierce advocate for advancing women in transportation. Gregg Brunner: Gregg D. Brunner, P.E., is Chief Operations Officer and Chief Engineer for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). He has held key leadership roles across MDOT and is a recognized advocate for traffic safety and innovation. Brunner co-leads the Michigan Liaison Committee for the Gordie Howe International Bridge, served on the Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission, and represents MDOT on the Council of Future Mobility and Electrification. He is active with AASHTO, where he serves as liaison to the Transportation Association of Canada Chief Engineers’ Panel. He holds a civil engineering degree from Michigan State University. Seval Oz: Seval Oz serves as Assistant Secretary for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where she drives innovation deployment and aligns R&D with national strategic goals. A pioneer in autonomous and connected mobility, Seval formerly served as Head of Global Partnerships for Google [X]’s Self-Driving Car Program (Waymo) and as CEO of Continental Intelligent Transportation Systems, where she launched Continental AG’s Silicon Valley division. Her extensive leadership experience includes serving as CEO of Aurima and holding public board positions with Microvision (MVIS) and Pioneer Electronics. An expert in AI, ADAS, and digital transformation, Seval holds nine patents in vehicular technology and is a published author in MIT Technology Review. She earned her MBA from the Wharton School and her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and MIT. Konner Petz: Konner Petz serves as Head of Special Projects in the Mayor’s Office of Mobility Innovation for the City of Detroit. In this role, he leads advanced mobility deployments spanning uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), robotics, connected infrastructure, and physical AI applications within Detroit’s public right-of- way. He oversees Detroit’s Transportation Innovation Zone (TIZ), a unique ordinance designed to fast- track real-world testing of emerging mobility and smart city technologies. With a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Konner brings over seven years of public sector experience across regional planning, transportation system operations, and municipal innovation, including roles with SEMCOG, SMART Bus, and the City of Detroit. His work focuses on aligning regulatory frameworks, community engagement, and public-private partnerships to responsibly deploy next-generation urban technologies. #ccat #ccatSymposium
