555 Timer and CD4040 Multi-Octave Synth Tone Generator
Following up on the LT SPICE simulation of a 555 tone generator, here's how the circuit sounds when assembled in the real world. The 555 tone is divided down with a CD4040 ripple carry binary counter/divider to produce sub-octave tones and an Op Amp audio mixer allows combining various octaves for interesting effects. Using a light dependent resistor to control the tone is fun! Patreon: / gadgetreboot Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.ca/GadgetReboot Twitter: @GadgetReboot / gadgetreboot
