Managing a Waterfowl Impoundment | Pumping Water
Today we'll take a look at the equipment I used to pump water into my duck hunting holes. The pump puts out a max of 17,400 gallons per hour. So, with an acre inch having 27,154 gallons of water, it will take just over an hour and a half to put one inch of water on an acre. Keep in mind that if the terrain is variable, you will get more water in the lower spots and others may stay above the water. But, that gives you and idea of about how long it would take to fill up your hole.
