Cagnes-sur-Mer is a medieval town situated on the French Riviera, between Saint-Laurent-du-Var and Villeneuve-Loubet, only 9 miles (15 km) away from Nice and 14 miles (23 km) away from Cannes. Le-Haut-de-Cagnes is the medieval part of the town and is famous for its castle which was built in the 14th century by Rainier Ier Gribaldi.
