In Massamagrell, we can see the Museum of Breeds and Types of the Fighting Bull, located in the town of Massamagrell. It became the first museum in the history of the municipality. The Museum of Breeds and Types of the Fighting Bull of Massamagrell arose from the interest and particular passion of Juan Eres and his family for bullfighting, and specifically for the fighting bull. Juan Eres's passion, cultivated through his participation in the "bous al carrer" festivals of Massamagrell and the municipalities of the Horta Nord region, has crystallized into a museum dedicated to preserving and presenting the most representative examples of the approximately forty breeds and types of fighting bulls that currently survive in the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America. When we talk about a bull's breed, we are referring to the set of physical and psychological characteristics that define its appearance and behavior. This phenotype is the manifestation of its genotype, or genetic makeup inherited through crossbreeding. In short, this phenotype of bulls is their build, bravery, figure, etc. The aim of breed breeding is to improve the breed through crossbreeding with other bulls, in order to maintain or improve the characteristics of the original breed. There are five original breeds of the fighting bull, four of which have practically disappeared. The Vistahermosa breed is the most widespread today and the source of most breeds. The center features a 47-piece exhibition, from a Marzal to established breeds such as Miura and Victorino Martín.
