The Day We've Tried to Avoid for 5 Years Has Arrived! This moment, which seemed too distant to be real, was right here in front of us: our last night on the Joy and the following morning the last time we would raise its anchor to begin a crossing together. We chose to end this story in a very special place for us, in front of the Es Vedrà rock in Ibiza. It was there that, years ago, still without a boat and without knowing all that we would experience, we imagined that one day we would sail those waters. This time, however, the departure had a completely different meaning from the countless times we raised anchor on the JOY. We sailed from Ibiza towards Valencia for the Joy's last sailing trip under our command. What seemed to be just a farewell crossing ended up bringing unexpected encounters, tension amidst the maritime traffic, and some moments that seemed to happen at exactly the right time. Even though it was a very well-thought-out decision with the clear objective of continuing this journey, I, PATHY, wasn't ready to say goodbye yet. Butterflies appeared in the middle of the ocean, dolphins came to accompany the farewell, and large ships passed too close for us to relax. But none of that was as difficult as understanding that those moments of maneuvering, raised sails, and miles sailed to our destination might actually be happening for the last time. For five years we lived on JOY, our home on the water, crossing seas, facing storms, living unforgettable moments, and discovering how far this life could take us. We honestly never saw Joy as just a boat. She was our home, our safety, and the place where we built one of the most intense and happiest phases of our lives. Now, arriving back in Valencia, begins the part we tried to avoid for so long. This is the episode of our last crossing on the Joy, the farewell to life at sea and the closing of a journey that completely transformed who we are today and will undoubtedly shape our future.
