Even though he tried to make friends in his own way, it still didn’t work out. On top of that, he was abused by his father every day and had to keep it a secret. Until one day, he found something he really loved: a sport called football. That was when Rintaro discovered himself. He was like a prodigy, showing great skill even without much experience. One day, police showed up at his house and found drugs hidden there. His father was going to be arrested, but before that, he got furious because Rintaro hadn’t hidden the drugs properly, as he had asked. Then he stabbed the ball Rintaro had bought with his hard-earned money to train and pursue his dream of becoming a football player. That was when Rintaro felt as if that ball represented all his effort, and right there, he kicked his father hard. After some time, he ended up in an orphanage, where he was adopted by a very kind couple. They also owned a bakery, where Rintaro would later help out. Now, at 16 years old, Rintaro finally started making friends with some really nice people (Saku Natsusawa, Shohei Usami, Ayato Yorita). While working at his mother’s bakery, he met a young lady named Kaoruko Waguri. Time passed, and they became friends, along with his other friends and Kaoruko’s childhood friend, Subaru Hoshina. One day, Rintaro gathered the courage to ask Miss Waguri out, and she said she would like to go to a festival with him. There, when they were alone, Rintaro confessed to Kaoruko — he was in love with her. He was surprised to find out that she loved him too, and they started dating. Even with all of this, he always chased his dream and stood out enough to receive an offer to play for the Bastard München team.
