2016 - Brave New Voices - Grand Slam Finals: Baltimore "No More Heroes"
http://www.bravenewvoices.org 600 young people from across the world take center stage at the 19th Annual Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival for a week of workshops, poetry slam, performances, and civic engagement from July 12 – 16, 2016 in Washington, D.C. This year's festival theme takes it's inspiration from Langston Hughes' poem "I, Too" redefining what it means to be American in the 21st Century. Powered by Youth Speaks, #BNV2016 invites young people to take part in as many as 50 workshops and 75 events in just a few days. Youth Speaks creates safe spaces to empower the next generation of leaders, self-defined artists, and visionary activists through written and oral literacies. We challenge youth to find, develop, publicly present, and apply their voices as creators of social change. #BNV2016 #iTooAmAmerica
