"Welcome to the Roaring 20's!" - November 30, 2019 (HC) - The Michigan Marching Band

(HC) - High Camera Presentation We begin the show, “Welcome to the Roaring 20's!”, with “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” recorded by Fergie, Q-Tip and GoonRock for the soundtrack to the 2013 film, The Great Gatsby. Next, we'll perform “And All That Jazz” (1975) from the musical Chicago. The show will conclude with “Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue” which was first recorded by The California Ramblers in 1925. The marching formations throughout the performance are visually inspired by Art Deco design. Saturday's performance, features musical arrangements by Michigan alumnus, former Michigan Marching Band Director, and current Western Michigan University Director of Bands, Dr. Scott Boerma (M.Mus ’92). The drill is by Dr. Richard Frey, with percussion arrangements by Percussion Instructor and Assistant Instructor, Professor Chuck Ricotta and Nigel Fernandez, respectively, along with flag choreography by Flag Instructor, Professor Joan Noble-Pruett. The Michigan Marching Band would like to give special thanks to the Fileti and Kolins Families for their support of our halftime performance. The show is dedicated to Bill Fileti. The families wish to honor Bill’s contributions for his role of founding the Huron Valley Ambulance, his love for the Ann Arbor community, and the University of Michigan.
